Practice: Navel Oiling

Navel oiling refers to the direct application of therapeutic oils into the belly button. This practice comes from Ayurveda, where the navel is considered a central point of absorption. It is believed to be a portal to the internal systems within the body via nerves and fascia.

Ingredients: Castor Oil & Blue Lotus

Castor oil delivers ricinoleic acid, a bioactive fatty acid with anti-inflammatory properties. Blue Lotus contains aporphine alkaloids that support parasympathetic activity, helping calm the mind and body.

From an evolutionary perspective the body must feel safe in order to sleep. When applied topically to the stomach and navel, this practice helps signal the nervous system to release physical tension, restoring the conditions for deeper, more restorative sleep.

How it's used

Place three drops of organic, cold-pressed castor oil into the belly button about an hour before bedtime. Lie down for a few minutes to allow the oil to gently absorb. You may also choose to massage lightly around the navel and stomach to encourage absorption. To protect clothing or bedding, simply place one of our navel patches over the area after application.
